Studies
A study is one piece of research — a question you care about, and the interviews AskEngine runs to answer it.
How it works
A study has five statuses: draft, publishing, active, paused, and completed. A draft collects nothing. Publish it and its interview links go live.
As interviews land, the study builds a readout: a narrative summary with a confidence level, completion and quality stats, and themes — the patterns found inside this study, each with sentiment, strength, and trajectory. Themes stay inside their study. When a pattern holds across studies, it becomes a signal.
Trust the counts before the prose. A theme's strength is a participant-count band (thin, corroborated, broad), and a thin theme is an honest "low sample," not a hedge to ignore.
The readout also admits what it didn't learn. When one of the study's learning targets has come up in depth in only a few interviews, the readout flags it as worth a look — and stays silent when coverage is fine. It describes the study's blind spots, never a participant's behavior, and there is no coverage score to chase.
What you can do
Create a study in the app, or let AskEngine draft one from a research gap. Publish it, share its links, pause it, and read the readout as it grows. You can also lock a theme's wording so analysis stops rewriting it.
When it's quiet
An active study with no interviews means no one has opened its links yet — share them wider. A study that stops producing new themes has likely saturated; the inbox tells you when.
